I love it all. The cottages remind me of the ones we saw in Skye, there thatches were held down by huge stones roped together and hung around them. There are many delightful things in your photos, but I think my favourite thing is that beautiful blue colour of the Cashen fisherman's cottage and the 16th century French wood carving.Jenny Woolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16881781466502273314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32992882.post-77061374707193907822012-04-18T19:11:37.507+01:002012-04-18T19:11:37.507+01:00I do like a castle and it would be a dream to stay...I do like a castle and it would be a dream to stay in one. I can't remember much of the castle, apart from the Armada Table, and the fact that they often hired out the hall for "feasting"! The Folk Park was amazing - the smell of burning peat stayed with me for days. I was especially interested in these little cottages as my husband's folk on the Isle of Man would have lived in very similar dwellings.Bovey Bellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13117332471600275100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32992882.post-34341888731705448942012-04-18T07:53:20.073+01:002012-04-18T07:53:20.073+01:00Wow! Can't wait to hear more about your visit.<br />PS I think the snooker starts on Saturday. They have a big marquee in Tudor Square and you can wander in and out of it. They are usually interviewing players etc. That should be there next week. xxxxDianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11269721218424514656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32992882.post-64111920651430413262012-04-18T00:03:42.978+01:002012-04-18T00:03:42.978+01:00Rowan...this is just lovely! Who knew a thatched roof needed to be tied down, being a island gal and knowing what a southerly breeze can do, I do understand. Such wonderful furnishings, my favorite is the chandelier.
