It was published in 1970 and is a book for kids 10-12 years old. Unfortunately, the passage is dialogue.

"Feeling my in pocket I dragged out the brown shoe. 'Look, Paradise - this is yours. It's broken but it will be better than nothing.' I glanced down at her feet and saw that she still wore the other one."

Laurelpythonesk99https://www.blogger.com/profile/09988548811376425955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32992882.post-15439617029760253282008-05-21T20:40:00.000+01:002008-05-21T20:40:00.000+01:00Rowan, where have you gone to?Rowan, where have you gone to?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32992882.post-25853451824840531782008-05-03T17:57:00.000+01:002008-05-03T17:57:00.000+01:00Hello Rowan,I have just discovered your blog - how...Hello Rowan,

I have just discovered your blog - how absolutely awesome. Just a few weeks after your entry I found a copy in perfect condition at a used book sale! I might have passed it by had you not written about the Plague village. The images from your entry brought further depth to the book. I highly recommend this book and for those who may be new to Rowan's blog, go back to read that entry earlier this year.Paulahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05138951262066297096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32992882.post-18712998271298394612008-03-17T12:48:00.000+00:002008-03-17T12:48:00.000+00:00This is beautiful, Rowan.
