A very short show and tell for this week. This stone birdbath has stood in my garden for 17 years now but it reaches much further back in my life than that. It was bought by my dad when I was about 12 years old and stood in the garden at the front of the house we lived in then and moved with us to the next house when I was 19. My dad died in 1989 and my mum sold the house and moved to an apartment in a retirement complex. That was when the birdbath came to my home - it's a link with my dad and my childhood that means a great deal to me.

ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to have an item with a strong family connection. My Aunt Mary threw away most of my Grandma's, Grandpa's, aunts' and uncles' things. I would have loved to have gone through a bunch of that stuff.

ReplyDeleteRegarding table clothes --- I suspect you could make one as I pictured in my blog quite nicely. And as far as that car boot sale goes --- how I'd love to attend! I'm curious as to the term. What does it mean, exactly? We have yard sales, garage sales, and Estate sales --- but not car boot sales where I live. Are they all one in the same?
