Therefore all seasons shall be sweet to thee,
Whether summer clothe the general earth
With greeness, or the redbreast sit and sing
Betwixt the tufts of snow on the bare branch
Of mossy apple-tree, while the nigh thatch
Smokes in the sun-thaw; whether the eave-drops fall
Heard only in the trances of the blast,
Or if the secret ministry of frost
Shall hang them up in silent icicles,
Quietly shining to the quiet Moon.

All Together Again

A slight hiatus in a hectic weekend gives me chance for a quick post with pretty poor photos. They do explain why I'm not around much at the moment though. My eldest son and his family are home from South Africa for 5 weeks and my younger son and his family are up from Suffolk to see them and my daughter also came over in the afternoon. This is the first time the whole family has been together in a long time.
There was constant motion so I just snapped a few photos when I could. This is the only one showing everyone who was at the park in the morning. Steve's wife wasn't here at this point as she is doing a two week residential course at the start of a Masters Degree. She joined us after lunch. The photo shows Cesca holding George, Neil, Steve with Lucy and Gabriel and Kaitlyn who got on like a house on fire.

Brothers - talking about football as they always have since they were about 8 and 6 years old!

Kaitlyn and Lucy having fun in the water.

Together we can do it! Gabriel and Kaitlyn discovering that one alone can't make it happen but two working together can:)

In the afternoon we played in the garden and Juliette and Hannah had both joined the party.

Lucy exploring, she is my youngest grandchild at 18 months. Their ages are easy to remember - Kaitlyn is 4 years old, Gabriel is 3, George is 2 and Lucy is 1.

Neil, Juliette and Stephen as always in photographs of the three of them you'd think they'd hardly met before. We had to tell them to put their arms round each other!

On Sunday we took a picnic up to Longshaw and met up with Rob and Rosie and their two children. Rob, Rosie,Stephen and Neil were all at primary school together so they go back a long way. No Juliette this time as she was taking part in the Great Yorkshire run.

Four on a log and finally an appearance by George who always seemed to be out of the shot or behind someone in most of the photos.Lucy is there hidden behind Hannah.

This is the view we usually got of George, he's always off to investigate something or other. Life is going to be pretty hectic for the next couple of weeks but hopefuly normal service will be resumed after that and the next London post will finally arrive.

Wonderful post! I know you enjoyed your family all together at one time.

It is difficult getting ours together at the same time, even though we are all in Missouri!

I enjoyed the photos.

That is a good reason not to be blogging. Your family is beautiful. How wonderful to have them all together....and to be there for your birthday. Happy Birthday, Rowan!!!!

Looks like you're having a wonderful time. Nothing better than spending it with family -- especially when you don't get to see them very often!

I can't thing of a better excuse for not blogging than being reunited with your "extending" family -- (except maybe being off on honeymoon!)

Young George has such beautiful blond hair -- I'd bet it stays combed for about 2 seconds.

How great to have your family all together, your sons and daughter resemble each other so much, Rowan. Those are wonderful ages to enjoy in your grandchildren!

I made a notation last year about your birthday, but had question marks by it. Only knew it fell around the 9th of September. :)

~*~Happy Birthday Rowan~*~

What happy family photos. The grandchildren get on so well together don't they? Looks like you have all been enjoying yourselves anyway and great to have all your children together at one time.

Mind are about to all be back under the same roof as T&J come home next week. In fact, drove past the end of your road yesterday and Tuesday as came up to fetch half their belongings. I knew you had family, and tbh, you wouldn't have wanted us (G & I) descending on you at 8 a.m. yesterday morning!

Oh, Rowan...you must be the happiest mom in the world at the moment! I was just posting on Facebook this morning how hard it is to get TWO children together. Two grown children withOUT spouses and children yet and not too far from us...it's near impossible! You are so lucky to have them all and they all look like wonderful, happy families. Those are all the moments that count in life, that's what it's all about. Enjoy your visits!

How nice to have the whole family together. I relish those times. My oldest son will be home from Iraq in two weeks. I look forward to all five children and four grandchildren having a big party!

I always love to have all my family together like this, and although we all live in the same town it is often difficult.
I love the way the little cousins all interact and get along, it must be so much fun watching them.
Enjoy the precious time you have with them.

What a delightful family group - wonderful they can all be together for a while. Know you are busy but sure it's a lot of fun.

I'm going nonstop too - have just opened a booth at SuzAnna's Antiques - I must be crazy but at least I'll have somewhere to display and hopefully sell some found treasures!!!

Stop over and take a peek when/if you have a spare moment!

Hugs - Mary
