A Backward Step!
The photo of my granddaughters has nothing to do with the post, I just like it :) Kaitlyn, who is hidden behind her mug, was 6 last Sunday and Lucy is just turned 3.
What I'm doing is just noting that I've gone back to the old interface for as long as it lasts as I really dislike the new one, it's pale and insipid and doesn't work properly. Many thanks to Jenny of An English Travel Writer who left a comment on another Jenny's blog Codlins and Cream saying how to go back. I shall pass it on to others who may like to do the same. You click on Design, click on the tools icon then select Blogger Options on the right of the page and hey presto! Sadly it seems this option will be removed soon but while it's there I'm going to use it. I know I'm far from alone in disliking the new set up and I wish Blogger would let well enough alone. Change isn't always progress!

Your granddaughters look adorable! And I thoroughly agree with you about Blogger. I'm not sure why they always seem to have the need to "improve" things that don't necessarily need improving!
Your granddaughters look sweet and are the same age as mine! They are a lot of fun, aren't they? I'm new to blogger, so I haven't had any experience with the old set up, but there are things about the new that I don't like-I may check out the old one!
The old blogger was so much easier to use - but I am just about getting the hang of the new one. Your granddaughters are adorable - you are so lucky to have them - alas, I am grandchildless.
I cannot believe what you have written. When i went to write my blog today, I had the same problem..
I honestly dont know, why they dont ask for a vote!
I was lucky to get back to the old interface and I too like it Rowan.
I must tell you, that last year due to blogging changes and google gliches..i made 3 blogs and lost them all.
I do hope that we dont have any problems.
fully agree..its dull and morbid..doesnt give any insentive.
Your grandaughters are sweet sweet sweet. such great ages Rowan. enjoy while you can
best wishes happy Tuesday

Thanks for the information! I really dislike the new interface and also the problem with uploading photos. I may be tempted to go back for a while. Your grand children look full of fun:)
What a great photo of two lovely girls! Perhaps Blogger should have listened to the old adage - 'if it ain't broke - don't fix it'.
Thanks for the mention, Rowan. Someone on the forum said there may be some other reason why Google is so keen to press this unsatisfactory interface on us. I can't think of a reason why...
I'm encouraged that many people are making their point that they don't ilke the interface, I suspect if enough people do then Google might think twice about taking it off soon.
In my opinion both interfaces are a bit rickety and both grandchildren are delightful.
Good point! Change isn't always progress. Now to shout it from the roof tops!
Case in point -- the new word verification!
I agree Rowaan, I am tempted to think it is all set up by a set of young wizz kids who always want change and to hell with those of us who prefer the old ways. Sometimes new is not always better.
Good morning Rowan,
I send greeting to you for today , your daughters Birthday. Please give my best wishes. Have a lovely day. val
Hi Rowan!
Your granddaughters are beautiful. About this Blogger thing...It has a lot of bugs. I'm trying to create another stand alone blog to add to my navigation bar but it just doesn't want to work.

Lovely little girls! Lucky you. I'm sticking with the new blogger even though I hate it because it takes me forever to get something to work for me and if I switch back I'll never figure this silly thing out.
I agree, why do they always have to play with things, when they are working well.
Lovely image of the Grand-children.......I can see why you love it:)
I've been having a devil of a time with blogger, too. Misery loves company and I'm comforted somewhat to know I'm not alone. Big huge separations between paragraphs, differing font sizes... sigh.
Love your granddaughters!! They should write a cookbook when they grow up. What a marvelous cover that would be!!
I've been struggling along with the new blogger, just as I have with the new Facebook timeline. All I can figure is someone needs to find a way to earn their pay at these companies so they make changes to prove they're doing something.
The photo of your granddaughters is perfect. I love the look of play about them--one is in dress-up, the other grimy from outside play. There is nothing better than kids who know how to really play!
I will continue using the old interface as long as I can. I found the new one inferior too. Your girls are darling! Nothing like that happy energy!
What a charmingly sweet photograph of your sweet granddaughters (love little Lucy's vibrant floral print dress - I'd sport that beautiful frock in a heartbeat! :) ).
Thank you deeply for your comment on my "You are beautiful" post today, dear Rowan, I really appreciate it. I think that youth is wonderful in many ways, but getting older isn't nearly as scary or unpleasant as some (the media very much included) would have you believe. Sure, I'd love to be 18 again in some ways, but in others I'm exceedingly grateful that I have a bit of age under my belt and a trove of experiences from which to draw on. I can only imagine that those feelings intensify as the years roll on and am sure that I'll love being 65 for a myriad of reasons when I get there. Here's to the beauty and wisdom of age!

I jumped on over a while back - I resisted for a long time - it has taken some getting used to - I agree - if it's working - let it be. I am happy to be your newest follower!

What sweet grandchildren. Imust say I'm learning and I do like the picture upload better. But I'm not a person who likes change so . . .
Cute grandchildren Rowan!
