Therefore all seasons shall be sweet to thee,
Whether summer clothe the general earth
With greeness, or the redbreast sit and sing
Betwixt the tufts of snow on the bare branch
Of mossy apple-tree, while the nigh thatch
Smokes in the sun-thaw; whether the eave-drops fall
Heard only in the trances of the blast,
Or if the secret ministry of frost
Shall hang them up in silent icicles,
Quietly shining to the quiet Moon.

November

“November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.

With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.

The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring.”

This is just a rather nice little poem to keep things going until next week. Since I got home from Spain I've been really busy with the WW1 centenary exhibition that I'm organizing. It will be on next weekend and also on Armistice Day and then hopefully my life will be my own again and I shall be able to post properly.

Hi Rowan,

Love the simplicity of the poem.......

I have also returned from Spain....it is pouring with rain here. I left blue skies and 33 deg.
Oh well......such is life.

Beautiful poems Rowen,

Spain has pretty much the same weather as portugal..and its been fantastic weather here.
It turned during the night.. Today its dull and we have been put on yellow alert .. as we might get heavy rain. I don't look forward to the darker nights.

your project sounds very interesting.
sending best wishes
val

I was wondering recently if the Year was still Circling. You've been missed. I like that little poem. Very simple, but as Woody Guthrie once observed "Any damn fool can get complicated!"

Hello Rowan

I love that November poem, all about Autumn!
How lovely to have been to Spain, warming the bones before winter sets in is such a good thing to do!
I'm very interested in WW1 history too so good luck with the centenary exhibition.
I'll be back soon.
